About the convention

Every year ACFIM organises National Youth Convention of Money in Politics targeting youth in tertiary institutions with a view to empowering the youth to contribute towards building Electoral Integrity for sustainable Democracy in Uganda.

 

The cardinal Objective of the convention

The cardinal aim of the convention this year is to engage youth in a discussion about being used by political parties and candidates as agents of vote buying and electoral violence ahead of Uganda elections 2021.

 

Who Participates?

Over 500 Youth and student leaders from tertiary institutions are annually brought together to participate in the convention.

 

How does the University host the convention?

This event is hosted on rotational basis by one of the participating universities and this year (2020) Kyambogo University is the official host. Applications for hosting the 2021 edition of the Youth Convention are open. Interested Universities submit application letter to ACFIM.
